Phosphorus – an important macronutrient, is abundant in several soils and is one of the major nutrients limiting the plant growth. The overall Phosphorus use efficiency following phosphate fertilizer application is low because of the formation of insoluble complexes Therefore this mandate frequent application of soluble forms of inorganic Phosphorus necessary for crop production. This results in leaching to the ground water and results in eutrophication of aquatic systems and pollutes soil.

P Sol B® - PS aids in transformation of soil Phosphorus into an assimable form and is therefore an integral part of the soil Phosphorus cycle as they help in releasing Phosphorus from inorganic and organic pools of total soil Phosphorus through solubilization and mineralization.

P Sol B® - PS contains vegetative cells of Pseudomonas striata. The composition is customised to comply with regulatory guidelines of respective countries. Pseudomonas striata is a proprietary strain and compliant with National Bio Diversity Authority guidelines and has Access Benefit Sharing (ABS) agreement with the State Bio Diversity Board for payment of royalty to the habitat from where the microbes have been isolated.

Carbon utilization:The bacteria contained in P Sol B® – BP on application to the soil get activated and multiply by utilizing the carbon source of soil or exudates of the root and in this process secrete organic acids and enzymes

These organic acids through their hydroxyl and carboxyl group chelate the cations (mainly Calcium) bound to phosphate converting them into the soluble forms

An inverse relationship is observed between the pH and soluble-Phosphorus concentration which indicates that organic acid production by phospho bacteria plays a significant role in the acidification of the soil medium facilitating Phosphorus solubilization and easier assimilation by plants

  • • P Sol B® - PS effectively solubilizes fixed phosphorus to exchangeable form and enables solubilization of 10 – 15 Kg /Ac OR 50 Kg/Ha of Phosphorus
  • • Natural Phosphorus solubilization improves both plant and soil health and also aids in soil remediation
  • • The population of beneficial microbes increases and the organic content of soil improves owing to organic acid secretion by the bacteria
  • • P Sol B ® - PS can be used as an effective component in Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) programmes, thereby leading to a reduction in use of chemical fertilizers and creating a safer environment.

  • Application method Notes

    Seed dressing

P Sol B® - PS with crude sugar in sufficient water to make a slurry and coat seeds and dry in shade and sow / broadcast / dibble in the field. Do not store treated / coated seeds more than 24 hrs

    Soil application

P Sol B® - PS can be used as under:

    1. Mix at recommended doses with compost and apply at early life stages of crop along with other biofertilizers

    2. Mix P Sol B® - PS at recommended doses in sufficient water and drench soil at early leaf stage/ 2-4 leaf stage / early crop life cycle

    3. Drip Irrigation: If there are insoluble particles, filter the solution and add to drip tank.

    4. Long duration crops / Perennial / Orchard crops: Dissolve P Sol B® - PS at recommended doses in sufficient water and apply as a drenching spray near root zone twice a year. It is recommended to have first application before the onset of the main monsoon / rainfall/ spring season and second application after the main monsoon / rainfall / autumn/ fall season.

    Foliar application

P Sol B® - PS at recommended doses in sufficient water and spray on foliage. Apply twice a year for long duration crops. It is recommended to have first application before the onset of the main monsoon / rainfall/ spring season and second application after the main monsoon / rainfall / autumn/ fall season

    Note:

Do not store P Sol B® - PS solution for more than 24 hours after mixing in water.

A fraction of the product may not be soluble in water. It is advisable to filter and discard undissolved residue and use filtered liquid for spraying or feeding through drip irrigation.
