Somguard^® AgNP is an eco-friendly, natural origin universal disinfectant used to disinfect all types of pathogenic micro-organisms. It contains 250 ppm nano silver made by nano technology process, encapsulated by a bio polymer in a water suspension. This does not contain hydrogen peroxide and it does not oxidize by sunlight. Somguard^® AgNP does not come under the Schedule of Insecticides Act (CIB)/ Pesticides regulatory. Somguard^® AgNP is called as disinfectant.

Composition Mode of Action Somguard^® AgNP benefits

Somguard^® AgNP contains 250 ppm nano silver. It is produced by nano technology process, encapsulated by a bio polymer and suspended in water. This does not contain hydrogen peroxide and it does not oxidize in sunlight.

Silver is well known for its oligo – dynamic action (cold sterilization). Silver acts as a photo catalyst. Colloidal particles cause cold injury to microbial cells and deactivates the metabolic system and inhibits further reproduction of the microbe eventually killing it.

Dose and Application:

Dose: 250 ppm: 1 ml / L water

A. Tea Industry:

1. Hand and leg wash: To be done before entering tea garden to pick leaves.

2. Tea Harvesting bag disinfection: Spray with Somguard^® AgNP solution using a nozzle that gives 5-micron particle size before picking tea leaves

• Disinfect daily from Day 1- Day 15
• Disinfect once a week after Day 15

3. Fogging tea processing room: Fog the room before starting tea processing

• Disinfect daily from Day 1- Day 15
• Disinfect once a week after Day 15

4. Tea Warehouse disinfection: Fog the warehouse and packing materials

• Disinfect daily from Day 1- Day 15
• Disinfect once a week after Day 15

B. Other applications:

Post- harvest disinfection:

• Vegetables/ Fruits / Produce can be dipped in Somguard^® AgNP solution for 10 minutes and then rinsed with water.
• Harvesting crates can be sprayed or swabbed with Somguard^® AgNP solution

Packaging material disinfection: Spray interiors of pack houses, packing trays and containers. The trays have to be either swabbed or dipped in Somguard^® AgNP solution. Use mist sprayer for disinfection

Warehouse and container fumigation:

• Warehouses and containers are breeding grounds for infectious diseases.
• Spray at a higher dose @ 20 ml / L water with a fumigator to disinfect all surfaces.

Tunnel disinfection: Somguard^® AgNP can be used for tunnel disinfection by misting through nozzles fit in the tunnel

Summary:

1. Quantum of silver nano particle misted per person :0.06 mg
2. Quantity of Somguard^® AgNP per person misted ( assuming 70 kg body weight): 0.24 ml
3. Quantity of Somguard^® AgNP per Kg body weight(assuming 70 kg body weight) : 3.4 micro Litre

Calculation:

• A tunnel consists of 4 nozzles
• 2 L of liquid is misted through nozzles every 1 hour
• Total liquid misted in a tunnel : 4 nozzles x 2 L = 8 L
• Somguard^® AgNP dose : 15 ml / L water
• Somguard^® AgNp dose for one tunnel : 15 ml / L x 8 L = 120 ml / tunnel/ hour
• No of people walking through the tunnel in 1 minute : 8
• No of people walking through the tunnel in 1 Hour : 8 x 60 = 480 people ( 500 people approximately)
• Therefore 120 ml Somguard^® AgNP is misted on 500 people in 1 hour
• Quantity of Somguard^® AgNP per person ( assuming 70 Kg average body weight ) : 120 / 500 = 0.24 ml / person
• Quantity of Somguard^® AgNP per Kg body weight : 0.24 ml / 70 Kg = 0.0034 ml OR 3.4 micro Litre / kg body weight

Quantity of silver per person:

• Somguard^® AgNP has 250 ppm silver nano particles : 0.25 mg per ml
• 120 ml Somguard AgNP has : 0.25 x 120 = 30 mg silver
• 30 mg silver is misted on 500 people
• Quantum of silver misted per person : 30mg / 500 = 0.06 mg per person

Note:

• Do not store Somguard^® AgNP solution for more than 24 hours after mixing in water.

Compatibility:

Compatible with all chemicals. Somguard^® AgNP should not be used along with microbial products as it is a biocide and will kill/inactivate the active beneficial microbes.

Storage

Store in ambient temperature, not more than 55 degrees Celsius. Keep container closed after use. Store in a dry place.

Customization

Somguard^® AgNP composition can customised to 50 ppm and 100 ppm formulation and also with Nano Copper.

Yes. You can spray anytime.

Does this product come under CIB / Insecticides Act/ Pesticides regulatory?
Somguard^® AgNP is not in Schedule of Insecticides Act. We term Somguard^® AgNP as Disinfectant. Somguard^® AgNP does not come under Pesticides regulatory.

How is Somguard^® AgNP unique when compared with products in market?
Yes, Somguard^® AgNP is quite unique in comparison to other Silver based products in the market. The ‘market products ‘are formulated with Hydrogen Peroxide which is hazardous and carcinogenic.
We do Nano Silver by Nano Tech process and encapsulate with Chitosan based biopolymer and suspend in water. Thus - Somguard^® AgNP is very unique product. Somgurd does NOT get oxidised by sun light

If Somguard^® AgNP is consumed by humans accidentally, what would happen and what is the first aid to be given?
Somguard^® AgNP has 250 ppm of Silver Water is carrier. Therefore, it is not toxic. Chitosan may cause vomiting - and no other health hazard if consumed accidentally. Treat symptomatically

How long will the nano silver particles which kill the pathogens stay in the applied area?
Somguard^® AgNP is a Universal Disinfectant. 250 ppm spray is just 0.025 grams per L This means not even traces can be found in residues

Is there any certification available to claim it is a natural product?
Silver is a natural product. No certifications are available. However internal assay is done to determine the content which is available as a Certificate of analysis.
