Annonaceous acetogenins present in Anosom® WP impart Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) / Antifeedant properties.

Anosom® WP contains Annonin (Squamocin) as the active ingredient, formulated as 1% Wettable Powder (10,000 ppm). Annonin (Squamocin) is the marker active compound and all other components of annona seed kernel have remained intact in the extract. Annona extract and inert carriers constitute the formulation composition.

Actives present in Anosom® WP are surmised to work as an Insect Growth Regulator / anti-feedant on caterpillars – Lepidoptera (Fall Army Worm, Helicoverpa spp, Spodoptera spp) and other caterpillar pests.

Squamocin (Annonin) present in Anosom® WP is surmised to have an inhibitory effect on the NADH-cytochrome c-reductase and complex I of insect mitochondria. Annonaceous acetogenins present in Anosom® WP have pesticidal and/or insect antifeedant properties.

  • • Anosom® WP effectively controls most of the economically damaging pests such as caterpillars of Fall Army Worm, Helicoverpa spp, Spodoptera spp and other Lepidopterous larvae.
  • • Can be used with conventional chemical pesticides, thus optimizing pesticide usage.
  • • Non-phytotoxic
  • • Safe to parasites, pollinators and predators.
  • • It does not lead to Pre-Harvest Interval issues.
  • • No re-entry barrier issues.
  • • No Maximum Residue Limit issues.
  • • No resistance problems
  • • Environmentally safe and biodegradable.
  • • Approved for use in organic agriculture.

  • Types of formulation

Anosom® is available in the following formulations

    • • Emulsifiable Concentrate Liquid – EC
    • • Wettable Powder – WP

  • Dose and Application

The following table gives details on Application methods and doses for the different formulations

    Application type Wettable powder formulation
    Dose 2g/ L water
Foliar application Typical acre dose: 400g
    Typical hectare dose: 1Kg
    Mix Anosom® WP @ 2g/L and Bindu @ 0.3ml/L
Bindu is a silicon spray adjuvant which improves bioefficacy
Apply spray solution at early insect emergence stage and follow up spray at 4-5-day interval
    Sample plan
    Week 1: Spray Anosom® WP + Bindu
    Week2: Spray Anoisom® WP + Bindu
    Week 3: Spray Anosom® WP + Bindu
Soil application Typical acre dose: 400g
    Typical hectare dose: 1Kg
Drench the soil around the root zone. This helps in addressing many hibernating pests like mealy bugs.
  • Application method Notes

Soil application: Anosom® WP can be used as under:

    1. Mix at recommended doses with compost and apply along with other biofertilizers(optional)

    2. Mix Anosom® WP at recommended doses in sufficient water and drench soil at early incidence of pest emergence

    3. Drip Irrigation: If there are insoluble particles, filter the solution and add to drip tank.

    4. Long duration crops / Perennial / Orchard crops: Dissolve Anosom® WP at recommended doses in sufficient water and apply as a drenching spray near root zone twice a year. It is recommended to have first application before the onset of the main monsoon / rainfall/ spring season and second application after the main monsoon / rainfall / autumn/ fall season.

Foliar application: Anosom® WP can be used as under:

    1. Mix Anosom® WP and Bindu at recommended doses in sufficient water and spray on foliage.

    2. Mix Bindu @ 0.3 ml/L spray fluid which improves bioefficacy. Bindu is a silicon spray adjuvant which helps in super spreading and penetration of Anosom® WP

    3. The spray volume depends upon the crop canopy. Spray at early stage of insect emergence and give 1 – 2 follow up sprays at 4-5 days interval

    4. Anosom® WP works even at higher temperatures unlike microbial pesticides which may need specific condition to work

    5. Drift from Anosom® WP spray fluid will cause eye irritation Therefore it is mandatory for the operator to wear eye protection glass with side shields and nose mask while mixing and spraying the product

    Note:

Do not store Anosom® WP solution for more than 24 hours after mixing in water.

A fraction of the product may not be soluble in water. It is advisable to filter and discard undissolved residue and use filtered liquid for spraying or feeding through drip irrigation

  • Compatibility

    • Anosom® WP is compatible with Biopesticides and other conventional chemical pesticides.

    • Anosom® WP can be mixed with conventional chemical pesticides/ chemical fertilizers as a tank mix and spray immediately on crops.
